A Personal Development Plan (PDP) is a document which allows you to outline your areas of development.
It is useful if you are looking to improve in your current role or take on more responsibility by moving up the career ladder into a management or more senior role.
The areas in need of development are identified through a personal assessment, an internal business review or by Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
PDPs can also be used as part of your ongoing development before and after any training and integrated into your business review processes to show what you are doing and how you are doing it.
PDPs enable you to take responsibility of your own development, can help check on your achievements and help you and others identify areas where help, support and further training is required.
